Spring has sprung and we have started breeding our two year-old stud, Twist N Boogie, to our heard of select broodmares! Over the past couple of years, we have been building a program focused on producing performance halter horses -- horses that have both the conformation required to win top honors in halter and the grace, power, and agility to excel under saddle. We believe that "Boogie" -- with his height (16.2 hh and growing!), speed, and incredible presence -- is the ideal cornerstone for our new breeding program!
Boogie has AMAZING breeding behind him! His sire, Drummin The Boogie (pictured above left), has offspring all over the world that are already making their mark at shows in Sweden, Australia, and the UK. Boogie's dam is an own daughter of World Champion Sonnys Amigo Bar (pictured above right). His maternal granddam "Frangipani" was famous for throwing Top Quality offspring that sold for $10,000-$20,000 as weanlings, and comes from a long line of winning thoroughbred race horses. His paternal grandsire, Skip N To The Drum, received 3 Reserve Grand Champions in Halter, California State Halter Champion, and Superior Halter Sire. He also sired 17 Grand Champions and 16 Reserve Grand Champions in Halter.
Boogie is double-homozygous, meaning he'll always throw tobianos with a black mane and tail. He is also HYPP N/N.
In Loving Memory of Even Havens Dr Zeuss
(2004 - 2008)
Even Havens Dr Zeuss was an own son of APHA World Champion, Sonny's Amigo Bar. His dam was a daughter of CR Black Buttons, whose sire, MK's Black Pepper, is considered one of the most influential sires in APHA history. We lost Zeuss to a tragic accident in April 2008. He was well-loved and will be dearly missed.
Zeuss was a homozygous black and white tobiano with his sire's size, presence, and movement. At the time of his death, he was undergoing training for Western Pleasure and was coming along very well. He was a 100% color-producer, and during the years of 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 he blessed us with offspring of superior quality, passing on his height, athleticism, and excellent conformation to every one of his babies.
We have held on to two Zeuss fillies, LadyZeussHundredProof (2007) and EH Zeuss' Angel Wings (2009). Through them, Zeuss will remain a part of our program for many years to come!
